Highlights and Important Remarks

Valid Passport: Your passport must be valid for the entire duration of your stay.
Online Immigration & Customs Form (ED Form): This is mandatory. You must complete it at travelform.gov.bb within 72 hours before you arrive.
Tip: Save the receipt/QR code to your phone or print it; you’ll need to show it to officers upon arrival.
Proof of Onward Travel: You may be asked for a confirmed return or onward ticket.
Visa: Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, and EU generally do not need a visa for stays up to 6 months.
Yellow Fever Vaccination: Only required if you are traveling from a country with a high risk of transmission.

Official Currency: The Barbadian Dollar (BBD), often written as BDS$.
Fixed Exchange Rate: The rate is fixed at $1 USD = $2 BBD.
Because the math is so simple (2-to-1), it's very easy to calculate prices!
Using US Dollars: US cash is widely accepted across the island, but you will almost always receive your change in Barbadian Dollars.
Credit Cards & ATMs: Major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops. ATMs are plentiful in Bridgetown, Holetown, and the South Coast.

Daytime: Think lightweight and breathable. Linen, cotton, and moisture-wicking fabrics are best for the heat. Pack shorts, t-shirts, sundresses, and at least two swimsuits.
Evening Wear: Some high-end restaurants on the West Coast have a "Resort Chic" dress code. For men, this means collared shirts (polos or button-downs) and long trousers or smart shorts. For women, sundresses or elegant separates are perfect.
The "Camo" Rule (Important): Do not pack any camouflage print clothing. It is illegal for civilians to wear camouflage (even for kids or on bags) in Barbados, as it is reserved for the military. Customs may confiscate it.
Footwear: Bring comfortable walking shoes or sneakers for exploring, flip-flops for the beach, and a pair of dressier sandals or shoes for dinner.
Rain Gear: A small, travel-sized umbrella or a light poncho is useful for the quick tropical "liquid sunshine" showers that pass through.
Pro-Tip: If you’re heading to the bank or a government office, avoid wearing just swimwear and a cover-up. Locals generally appreciate a bit more "modest" dress (like a shirt and shorts) in these formal public spaces.

Suggestions to make your weekend stay in Barbados an absolute delight!!

The Arrival: Head straight to the South Coast to settle in. Take a quick stroll along the Richard Haynes Boardwalk for your first view of the turquoise Caribbean Sea.
Oistins Fish Fry: This is the highlight of any Friday night. It’s a massive outdoor street party in a fishing village.
Eat: Fresh grilled mahi-mahi (dolphin), flying fish, or lobster from vendors like Pat’s Place.
Vibe: Enjoy the loud soca and reggae music, watch the locals dance, and browse the local craft stalls.

Morning – Underground Wonders: Visit Harrison’s Cave. You’ll take an electric tram through crystallized limestone caverns, seeing stalactites, stalagmites, and even underground waterfalls.
Afternoon – Catamaran Cruise: Book a lunch cruise on a catamaran. These usually depart from Bridgetown and include:
Snorkelling with Turtles: You’ll visit Carlisle Bay, known for its friendly sea turtles and shallow shipwrecks teeming with tropical fish.
Unlimited Drinks: Including the famous Barbados Rum Punch!
Evening – Fine Dining: Head to the West Coast (the "Platinum Coast"). Places like The Tides or Lone Star offer incredible sunset views and high-end Bajan-fusion cuisine.

Morning – East Coast Views: Rent a car or take a taxi to Bathsheba. The Atlantic side of the island is rugged and dramatic, featuring massive coral boulders sitting in the surf. It’s a photographer’s dream and a world-renowned surf spot (the "Soup Bowl").
Late Morning – Hunte’s Gardens: Located in a lush sinkhole in the centre of the island, this is often called the most enchanting place on Earth. It’s a botanical masterpiece filled with classical music and exotic plants.
Afternoon – Beach Chill at Miami Beach: Not the one in Florida! Miami Beach (Enterprise Beach) on the South Coast is a local favourite. It has calm waters for swimming and plenty of shade.
Sunday Sunset: Grab a "fish cutter" (a local fish sandwich) from Cuz’s Fish Stand at Pebbles Beach to end your trip like a true local.
