Highlights and Important Remarks

Valid Passport: Must be valid for the duration of your stay.
Mandatory Digital C5 Form: You must complete the online Immigration/Customs C5 form at enterjamaica.gov.jm.
Timing: You can fill this out up to 30 days before arrival.
Tip: Once finished, you'll receive a confirmation code. Screenshot or print this to show at the airport to speed up your entry.
Proof of Onward Travel: You may be asked to show a return ticket.
Visa: Citizens of the US, UK, Canada, and most EU countries do not need a visa for tourist stays.

Official Currency: The Jamaican Dollar (JMD), noted as J$.
Exchange Rate: It fluctuates, but it is roughly $1 USD to J$155–J$160.
Using US Dollars: Unlike some other islands, USD is very widely accepted in Jamaica, especially in tourist hubs like Montego Bay, Negril, and Ocho Rios. However, you will usually get a better deal (and correct change) using Jamaican Dollars for local street food, small shops, and off-the-beaten-path bars.
Cards & ATMs: Credit cards are accepted at all major resorts and established restaurants. ATMs are common in tourist areas and will dispense JMD.

The "No Camo" Law (Strictly Enforced): Just like in Barbados, it is illegal for civilians to wear camouflage print in Jamaica. This includes hats, bags, and even kids' clothing. Customs may confiscate these items at the airport, so leave them at home.
Resort Wear: If you are staying at an all-inclusive resort (like Sandals or Hyatt), check their dinner dress code. Many require "Resort Elegant" for evening dining—meaning long trousers and collared shirts for men, and dresses or dressy separates for women.
Daytime Essentials: * Breathable Fabrics: Linen and cotton are your best friends.
Water Shoes: These are a "must-have" if you plan on climbing Dunn’s River Falls or visiting any rocky lagoons.
Swimwear: Pack at least 2–3 suits so one can dry while you wear the other.
Adventure Gear: If you're heading to the Blue Mountains, bring a light jacket or sweatshirt, as it gets surprisingly chilly at higher altitudes.
